Yes, you are right, Piasecký won in 2006 a World Cup event, so it should be the 2nd ever win in a international let say semi-major event. but clearly it´s the biggest success of SVK women´s gymnastics since the independence

Nice achievement. Slovakia has come a long way since Ivana Kováčová and Mária Homolová. Mokošová is much better and it's possible for her to reach the all-around final at the World Championships.

That would be certainly huge. She already made it at the Europeans and European Games, the WCh and OG AA Finals are her big dreams, But there still a lot of work to do for her to achieve that. From what I noticed she is a very humble and hardworking girl, but sometimes at big events struggling mostly mentally, but it´s a typical and common issue among Slovak athletes, the lack of mental coaches in our small teams is IMO one of the main reason why our athletes fails often at big events, even if they are very well physically trained and prepared.

For those who could be interested (@thiago_simoes) here's livestream for the 2018 Jr Pan Am Championships

Thank you!

Once more a disappointing competition for female Brazilian gymnasts. I knew their level was a lot lower compared to the girls from 2014, but their results are much worse than I expected.

Who's the best Brazilian female gymnast atm?

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

I think that Rebeca Andrade is the best Brazilian gymnastic, i love her exercises. I'm very curious about @thiago_simoes's opinion :)

Junior: Luísa Helena (she placed seventh at the Pan Ams)

Senior: Flávia Saraiva (though Rebeca Andrade is coming back)

I knew Luísa Helena would place behind the Americans and the Canadians, but placing behind two three Argentinian gymnasts was a tough pill to swallow. The money invested in Luísa Helena was huge. In the end, she is out of shape (for a gymnast), performing low difficulty and behind three gymnasts from a nation which does not invest nearly as much in gymnastics. Unacceptable. Kudos to Argentina, of course, but shame on Brazil for allowing this to happen.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
