Equestrian 2018 Discussion Thread

Family of Portuguese Olympian Goncalo Carvalho assaulted his team mate Vasco Godinho, for unspecified reasons.

Previously they assaulted a couple of journalists (in 2015) and another team mate Miguel Duarte (in 2016). And yet they never suffered the consequences. How lovely.

:LUX Sascha Schulz & Dragao scored 76% in today's freestyle in Austria. Pretty promising, could as well become first Luxembourgian equestrian combination at the Olympics. :cheer:

What a dreadful week for equestrian this has been... After Mike Tucker, two prominent international horses passed away suddenly too...

:CAN Kathryn Robinson's Rio 2016 ride Let It Bee passed away suddenly after collapsing during competition. So gutted for them, one of my favourite combinations. Also pretty sure this is the first equine Rio Olympian to pass away....

:NZL Wendi Williamson's ride Dejavu (WC finalist from Omaha last year) also passed away suddenly... Big blow for the Kiwi team going into WEG, as they actually had a decent chance of stealing team dressage quota from Australia, but now it's gone...

Also in shadow of all that, :GER Bettina Hoy announced she won't be chasing team selection anymore. :(
