At roughly 15+ kilometers per hour, there is a bit of an advantage you gain from staying behind someone. Not as much as when the speeds are higher though, of course, I don't think it'll matter that much here.

It's the same as in cycling. It's much easier to follow than to set the pace leading.

Props for Mazuronak, let go of the group early, presumably because she felt that pace was too high for her, and caught up with most of that group later on!

I don’t think the aerodynamic advantage is huge, but there’s definitely less mental/physical ware when following someone. It’s easier to follow than to lead/run alone.
