It's not news anymore but it does deserve a mention: sadly no Severin Freund at the Olympics, bad luck just keeps haunting the poor guy and another massive injury has already cost him his season before it even started

Sarah Hendrickson and Michael Glasder won the American trials.

Noriaki Kasai is going for his 8th Olympics, Japan has named him to the team 

 

Apart from him, also Taku Takeuchi, Daiki Ito (I suppose that means he's recovered from his injury?) and the Kobayashi brothers have been selected.

I never actually have a physically visible reaction to sports (very, very rare exceptions excluded), but when Kasai won the silver medal in Sochi, I literally jumped out of my chair 

 

Imagine if he wins gold
