This is going to be like the Ice Hockey World Championships in terms of caliber of professional players who participate, only worse....

It's the most important basketball competition of the quadriennium even if a couple of countries don't care at all, they should make the Olympic qualification much more dependent on the WC...no reason to give a free OQT spot to teams that don't give a damn about the international part of the sport for 4 years.

Don't agree. At least the best European nations will be with best teams (only Italy has problems). And Australia with best team as well. Well, for European teams, players and fans this is very important competition.

They might as well call this the B Basketball World Championship, it’s worse than the Ice Hockey World Championship in terms of player participation.

 

Though, granted, even the Olympics are weird in that regard given that the US could probably have the best, second best, third best and fourth best teams.

 

Either way, it’s shaping up to be a bit of a boring competition. Big scrap for silver while the  C team dominates.

Why B? Only because USA and Canada? USA is still great. Canada played with good team 2015. at Americas championship....... and we all know what happened

 

MVP of NBA league Antetokounmpo will be there, Jokic who was in ALL NBA FIRST TEAM will be there, best defansive player of NBA league this year Gobert as well + a huge number of great basketball players.

huh I forgot Argentina. They are good as well and has chance for medal.
