Men's Volleyball FIVB World League 2017

Recommended Posts

Oh, my dear FIVB :mirror:the conditions in Curitiba are against the official competitions rules of volleyball, created by FIVB  the air temperature should be at least 16°C during World league matches, while yesterday it was just around 10-13°C

My favourite Volleyball position: LIBERO. You ask why? Look here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyIOarNAONk

It seems that the fate of World league 2018, or rather "new volleyball league" is already sealed  here are the teams and basic schedule according to our media . They also confirmed some teams will be able to play SEVEN YEARS without relegation.

Like I said some weeks before - i probably won't watch this farce at all. The rule about 7 years of play without relegation just sealed it. Even now many teams don't use their first squads. Fivb basically just made sure for the next 7 years we will have competition full of amazing matches like Brazil u20 - France u17 or Italy Z team - China. Because money :mirror:

bstards. we can(did) beat half of those teams.:wacko::mad::cry::sick::dunno::mirror::water::crazy::redcard::bones:

Canada,Brazil, Russia were in the f6 and in the same group and all the teams won one match and Canada was out, and history seems to repeating itself here, holding my breath!

Does it mean you think Canada is not qualified yet ? because that's wrong, that 3-0 win secured a SF place for Canada. , Canada's set ratio is bigger than 1,

if Russia beats Brazil 3-0 (which is almost impossible) they will be qualified alongside Canada, otherwise Brazil and Canada will be in semifinal.

    • For the summary and lowlights of Thailand's preparation in hosting the ongoing Sea Games, I kindly suggest those who are interested to read from this English language article from Thai media outlet, Thai Enquirer: https://www.thaienquirer.com/63469/thailands-sea-games-2025-under-fire-budget-management-and-technical-controversies/
    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
    • After looking at the entry list of athletes in the official website, I've changed some of my predictions in the Olympic events with these changes:   Total Tally: Thailand 87, Singapore 51, Vietnam 48, Indonesia 33, Philippines 24, Malaysia 22, Cambodia 1     Badminton (5): Malaysia 2, Thailand 1, Singapore 1, Indonesia 1   Men’s Singles: Switched from Thailand to Singapore     Boxing (11): Thailand 8, Philippines 2, Vietnam 1   Men: -54 kg (-55 kg): Thailand, -60 kg: Thailand, -63.5 kg (-65 kg): Thailand, -69 kg (-70 kg): Thailand, -80 kg: Philippines   Women: -50 kg (-51 kg): Thailand, -54 kg: Thailand, -57 kg: Thailand, -60 kg: Vietnam, -66 kg (-65 kg): Thailand, -70 kg: Philippines     Sailing (7): Thailand 4, Singapore 2, Malaysia 1   ICLA 6: Switched from Thailand to Malaysia     Taekwondo (8): Thailand 6, Vietnam 2   -67 kg: Switched from  Vietnam to Thailand     Weightlifting (5): Thailand 2, Philippines 1, Indonesia 1, Malaysia 1   Men: -65 kg: Malaysia, -94 kg (-95 kg): Thailand   Women: -53 kg: Thailand, -69 kg: Philippines, -77 kg: Indonesia   * I saw that they have actually change the weight categories to almost match that of IWF newly introduced categories from several months ago.      Wrestling (12): Vietnam 7, Philippines 3, Indonesia 2   Men's Freestyle: -57 kg: Philippines, -65 kg: Vietnam, -74 kg: Vietnam, -86 kg: Philippines Men's Greco-Roman: -67 kg: Indonesia, -77 kg: Vietnam, -87 kg: Indonesia, -97 kg: Vietnam Women's Freestyle: -50 kg: Vietnam, -53 kg: Vietnam, -57 kg: Vietnam, -62 kg: Philippines
    • Many permutations possible in the last game, going to be a nail-biter!  v  is the live game on the Olympic Channel later today.   2025 WCF Curling Olympic Qualification Event – Kelowna, Canada   Team   Wins   Losses   Men       CHN 6   0     P USA 5   1     P JPN 4   2     NED 3   3     PHI 3   3     KOR 2   4     NZL 1   5     POL 0   6
    • This is absolutely ridiculous. If you aren’t willing to celebrate Pride then you should simply not come to Seattle. You have to respect local customs.   https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c208392884jo
