I was doubting between that and the lunar phase, so the 50:50 worked out nicely :d

As requested, I'm now in need of a short break, but I'll let you know the second I'm back. Shouldn't be much more than 15 minutes or so!

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Hello!

Hey, how was the break?

To recap the situation, you're at Pts. 8,000 but it has been a bit expensive getting there as you only have your expert lifeline left.

You have to survive the next two questions to reach 32,000.

50:50 Expert Switch Team

15        Pts. 1 Million
14        Pts. 500,000
13        Pts. 250,000
12        Pts. 125,000
11        Pts. 64,000
10        Pts. 32,000
9        Pts. 16,000
8      Pts. 8,000
7      Pts. 4,000
6      Pts. 2,000
5      Pts. 1,000
4      Pts. 500
3      Pts. 300
2      Pts. 200
1      Pts. 100

If you're ready, we can continue with 16,000.

I think A, B and C were observed way before that, so I'm going for D, even though by now it's not a planet anymore, making the wording tricky! D, it is!

Pts. 16,000

Which planet did William Hershel observe and discover in 1781?

  A: Mercury    B: Mars
  C: Uranus

  D: Pluto

Mercury and Mars were discovered way before by Sumerians and Babylonians. That much is correct.

@heywoodu

Pluto, however, was only discovered as late as 1930 by a man named Clyde Tombaugh.

Hershel discovered Uranus. :(
