Money talks and pro sports is business. The days of Karl Schranz and Ingemar Stenmark being banned because they were "professionals" are long gone. Sport is a monster money maker. Even USA finally legalised sports gambling after decades of ethical opposition. You cannot stop the power of money in this world.

:CAN Bianca Andreescu has withdrawn from Australian Open 2022. Well, a lot of fancy wording about "inspiring people off court" (like really?) but maybe she isn't vaccinated and that's the only reason behind her decision? :whistle:

statistically in both countries almost a quarter of the marriages are Czech-slovak mixed marriages.

      There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

      I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
