Qualified for the Quarterfinals

For the 8 year in a row, in fact this system was introduced in 2014 and :SVK never failed to qualify for the Top 8.

And since 2001 never finished worse than 8th ! (Until 2014 only 6 advanced to the play-offs)

That is some considerable achievement for such small country even if We may not be a big contender in this sport currently anymore in the last decade

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Russia finally did it! they stopped the 54-game winning streak of the Swedish juniors in the preliminary round of the Junior Worlds...and they did it in an instant classic match...

so, now the final match between USA and Sweden suddenly becomes very, very interesting, as it could change dramatically the final ranking of the group (and the quarterfinals' pairings)...

in the other group, everything went according to plan, with FIN destroying SVK and GER beating a very disappointing Swiss team thanks to their superstars Peterka (hat trick for him) and Stutzle (who scored one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament so far)...

End of 54 consecutive preliminary round Matches Winning Streak  Congrats Russia for this achievement.

Expected compulsory annual blowout for our team, unexpectedly came really late in the tournament this time though. Anyway, we still have to consider we have by far the youngest team, in this age categories, every year is a huge difference. So that is great to see so many talents learning here, remember, the majority of this team will be returning players in the next 2 tournaments, some of them even at the next 3 championships. + one of the supposed biggest talents of our hockey actually Dvorský is now 15 years old and may get a chance already next year.

Germany (or rather 1st line) is just fantastic (again speaking about their 1st line) Stutzle, Peterka, Eliaš..omg that is some pure hockey beauty. + Moritz Seider and Reichel sadly missing this time. Unbelievable generation.
