Swiss Team has been announced:

Lena Häcki

Men:

Jeremy Finello

Niklas Hartweg

Sebastian Stalder

Eligius Tambornino

Benjamin Weger

Lena Haeki is the most frustrating biathlete in the WC tour I think.  She could be so good ...  Turning to Hartweg and Stalder is a good sign for the long run, Tamborino is 34, they are the bright future, but I wonder how big their learning curve will be.

Don't know what you mean by "yet" but she's actually due to start her WC career in Hochfilzen (source : an answer to her last IG post) :coffee:

More confirmation of that she will start her World Cup career in Austria.

She raced with the Norwegian team this past weekend (she has been training with them for a while now)

Here are her results:

One more thing from this past weekend's training races in Norway, JT Boe did not shoot well:

He missed 4 shots in the mass start, but only was 12 seconds behind Christiansen who missed two.  Looks like the ski speed is there.

Slovakia Team announced for the opening stages.

Since we have only 3 quotas in both genders,

The M Team will be represented by Tomáš Hasilla, Michal Šíma and Šimon Bartko.  (After the retirement of Martin Otčenáš any point this season will be a success)

The W Team will be represented by Paulína Fialková, Ivona Fialková and Henrieta Horvátová. (The 2nd Post-Kuzmina season will be again a sign of hopes of Slovak biathlon fans inserted on the Fialková sisters shoulders, mainly on the older one "Paja" nowadays clear SVK biathlon number 1)

In Relays the teams will be supplemented by Matej Baloga and Veronika Machyniaková.

  Reveal hidden contents

Remove the Fialková sisters from the list.

Due Covid-19 positive tests among their service team Paulína and Ivona are not allowed compete in the opening stage.

I guess, this is what you get for organizing final preparation camp in :SWE famously known as the land of no covid measures ... They were there only for 1 week and 4 out of the 7 members of the team are covid positive..

The even more frustrating situation is that now the only 2 girls of our team in Kontiolahti will be the young Machyniaková and Horvátová and they will not have any servicemens, because all are stuck now in Sweden with the Fialková sisters...

No Windisch and one three on the men's side out of 5.  I wonder what is going on?

Will another team help with waxing, on course instructions, or will they really be all alone?  Also is it both weekends or just the first one?

they will have to use the help of the mens team. Our M team has one coach and two servicemens and they will have to care also for both girls. since obviously also altogether with the Fialková sisters service team (aka the Female SVK  national team service team) also the W coach will have to stay in quarantine in Idre.

They will pass another tests in Friday, Sunday and Monday, if all tests will be negative they will be allowed to travel to Kontiolahti for the 2nd week, if no our "B" team service team (for the Junior team) will travel to Kontiolahti and they will have to return home to Slovakia.

Imagine having seperate service men for the men's and women's teams

You've mentioned both Fialkova's out. What are the other names that will be skipping the first stage?

In the frist FISI comunicate, the men's team was completely differente (we had Windish, Cappelari and Bormolini.) After an hour or less, the comunicate disappeared and we have this new one... I think that we had some covid cases

You mean in SVK team ? None.

Paja and Ivona were training alone in Idre SWE with their mini-team which is in fact the whole W National Team service team (W NT coach Anna Murínová, and W NT servicemens) the rest of the team, the young Veronika Machyniaková and Henrieta Horvátová were training the last 2 weeks in Obertiliach with the Mens team, They traveled to Kontiolahti with mens (when the W team around Fialková sisters was expected to join them tomorrow)

    • Sorry but this is the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard… putting in 3x3 hockey (which doesn’t even have its own World Championships or anything like that) over telemark skiing, ice cross, and freeride skiing…    This is coming from a big fan of hockey. Curious as to what @hckošice @phelps @Epic Failure @copravolley@Topicmaster1010 think though?

Since I now won't be able to use tomorrow as a voting day I have dedcied to give people an extra 24 hours from this point to enter. The public jury vote will still open at the advertised time. Below I have tagged user from countries that have yet to enter, hopefully they will consider to do so at the last opportunity:   South Korea: @erw@jgb0062 Croatia: @Nikica@snk911@VISOKO Gabon: @Damienyork Belgium: @ALABRAMMIE@Misterxxt Latvia: @Blueniceguy Dominican Republic: @eduardo096 Singapore: @bennetcraig39 Egypt: @mahmoud elrefaei @thepharoah Qatar: @amrgunenr1@KAE Australia: @Sir Rols@Stu192 @dullard Philippines: @JohnRamos84 @PHI2019 @Tigercub Iran: @Hesamkh1990 @MHSN Estonia: @Katie_M Bangladesh: @Razu Ahmed  Montenegro: @ChandlerMne Hong Kong: @pacowong1223    Also @NaBUru38 I know you said you weren't up for doing it due to time but do you think you would reconsider?
