Junior and u23 WC started few days ago. Course in Romania is joke. Lane 8 and 9 are much more privileged. So we have world champion in k1 u23 from lane 9 from Argnetina, and in c2 1000 from China. Also silver medal for Mexico in c2 1000 from lane 8. In every race lane 8 or 9 or both finished as first or second.

Today Iran won its first ever medal in a ICF World Championship , Mohammad Nabi Rezaei won bronze in C1 1000m juniors.

 

Always nice to win world medal in a new sport.

Interesting results on WJC and WU23C. 31 nations have at least one medal - great for this sport Cuba won 4, Mexico 3 medals, Argentina 2. Asia is not that good, only China, Iran and Uzbekistan are good.

 

I thought that Japan will be good, but they are far from good

Hopefully this helps boost Canada's performance on the world stage, after all the canoe discipline is named after the country
