Maybe also a tripartite in boxing, they competed at Asian/Oceanian qualifications.

Quite true, Tonga has had a rich history in the sport, it is also the sport in which they won their only medal.

Of those 6 only Ki Bo Bae competed in London 4 years ago, she will try to defend her olympic titles.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I would like to inquire, archers do not have Olympic quotas, but certainly if eg France wins 1 individual quota man and / or woman, are what can win the quotas by teams at the World Cup in June 2016? Or if you win 1 or 2 individual quotas at the European Championships, we can win the quota in Antalya at the World Cup?

  • 2 weeks later...

According to the entry list for the American qualification this week, 12 NOC's in men's andn 7 in women's will try to obtain one of three quotas. In men's I think the places will go to Cuba, Mexico and Chile, and to Venezuela, Cuba and Canada in women's.

Top 4 men after ranking round - :MEX:MEX:CUB:CHI

Top 4 women after ranking round - :VEN:CAN:VEN:CUB

Guatemala has a good chance for an upset in both the men and women while Argentina and El Salvador could have upset potential in the men.

Is Canada not competing in the men's team qualifications?

Countries that earned a quota at the world championships cannot earn another quota here.

However Canada will be allowed to qualify a team at the final qualification event in June.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.

    • That's so they can play in both venues in Canada.  Will mean that the UEFA Path A winner has to go from Toronto to Los Angeles and then up to Seattle.   Someone was bound to draw the short straw in that group since 4 of the matches are Central, but 2 are in Santa Clara.  Unfortunately, that's Algeria.
