Eh Bibic will miss this :( Pity really. He was our main hope for medal on 1500 and 5000.  Now only Gardasevic and maybe Micevic can win medal.

Great to see your enthusiasm for the performance of a foreign athlete! :yes

Röhler and Vetter make 90 m almost seem normal ... at this point it would be really disappointing if they wouldnt finish 1-2 in London.

German javelin throwers have never been that strong, amazing progression, sadly we are in a very bad spot in pretty much all other throwing events.

Also 64.21 for Hussong in womens javelin throw today and 21.53 for Storl yesterday, overall i am pretty happy with the current state of german athletics, despite the "absence" of Schwanitz/C.Harting and the recent retirement of world class athletes like Heidler, Obergföll or Stahl.

Obviously at the world championships it's always possible a non-German wins, but man, if they have one big chance for a gold medal...it's definitely right there :d (stating the obvious, I know :p )

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
