My options were this and a local death metal band, but at least this is more traditional which I found more valuable than some international kind of genre.

Full disclosure, Belize was one of my favorite songs. I totally expected it to make the Round of 16. I was one of the few who ended up voting for it in the end. If this was a true TISC, that would have been my 10 or 11 point song. Vocals were unmatched by every other entry, and I’m a sucker for traditional music.

I don't buy it. My theory is that @Werloc picked that particular song so that 2014 Open would no longer be his worst result.
