Tomorrow in FS dual moguls don't we have enough chances for gold?

Supposed to have two good chances.

Viel gets a bye in the first round because he's ranked 1st in dual moguls. Horishima gets a bye because he's ranked 2nd. Woods gets a bye because.....he's ranked 27th? I guess it's because he was given the gold in the individual event.

I guess. But this is his second individual final where he just stopped moving on the last lap, and he wasn't much better in the relay, almost losing Canada a medal.

I think we have to accept he's just not that good.

Disagree heavily, after how dominant he's been on the WT, not sure how you can say that.

There is no way the judges give any close duel to Kingsbury.

Have you watched, like, any WT this year? He's obviously good enough to win individual gold, unforgettably so are like a dozen people.

Meh, part of being good is showing up when it counts. Maybe he will one day, but he can't right now. Kind of like Homan. No one outside the most die hard fans follow the other competitions. If you can't show up at the Olympics, you'll never be considered the greatest.

Edit: Obviously I'm being a little mean here, I don't mean it personally. He's far from the first Canadian who can't perform on the biggest stage, even just here in Italy. It seems to be a national condition.

I think that's the difference between the goods and the greats

I think it's a little ridiculous to postulate that van 't Wout is the only man capable of winning an individual event in short track.

Like, Lindsey Jacobelis had a reputation as a choke artist... until she won two Olympic golds in two days. But if you look at her career as a whole, she really didn't "choke" all that often. The Olympics are a tiny sample size for sports like short track, it's hard to judge someone from a single Olympic games.
