2026 Winter Olympics - Day 7 (February 13)

Recommended Posts

I am reading contradictory posts on Matc Kennedy. The rules says if the touch is before the hog line is fine (ie what Marc did). Is this correct? Was there cheating?

In my opinion, as someone who watches curling a decent amount...

It's hard to tell if they were trying to cheat or if it was an accident, the touch did make the rock curl more, but to me it seems illegal. I will say the way Kennedy (and the rest, besides Gallant) handled it... definitely not a good look :crazy:

I don't think either Eriksson or Kennedy are completely in the wrong, they both interpreted the rules in different ways, the rulebook needs to be clearer on the matter.

Gallant is the only on that team I actually like (well, Tardy too) xD

Tardi is awesome :d such a likeable guy

Yup, Tardi is great. Him and Gallant are the only reasons I’ll actually be happy if this team wins gold.

And it takes a lot for me to not root for the Canadians.

I said this in the curling thread, but if you're going to accuse someone of cheating, either go to the official or say it straightforward. Don't just mumble it under your breath and walk away and then act surprised when confronted. Now, that doesn't excuse Mark's reaction, but no one handled that well. If I'm at the Olympics for the nth time and someone mumbles that I cheated on a live mic in a round robin game, I'm going to defend myself. Maybe more diplomatically, but then again these are grown men in the heat of the moment on the biggest stage. It's not that big of a deal.

It doesn't look like anyone needs to cheat to beat Sweden right now, anyway. And that, my friends, is Olympic-grade shade. :toast:
