Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2025 - 2026

Recommended Posts

We'll see, however, what the difference is between a true skiing powerhouse, like Switzerland or Austria, which can turn a solid skier like Rast into a World Cup winner. There's no Gut phenomenon, but what's the problem, when we create another great girl, even if with less potential? Austria did the same with Scheib, the USA with Moltzan, etc. Meanwhile, Italy got a great talent just for free- Colturi, who was always outside the Italian training system- and we still messed everything up and lost her. And after Brignone and Bassino, we don't have anyone on the podium in the giant slalom. I'm sure that Lara della Mea in Switzerland would now be achieving results on par with Rast (and they're the same age) or Moltzan. They simply know how to do it, not just improvise like us.

And here? There was Tomba, Compagnoni, then Brignone, now Colturi, but do you think anyone knows why such talents emerged here? No. We're just hoping for luck, but how many times can you be lucky? And even when we are lucky, we stumble over our own feet, like with Colturi. Well, it's hard to call it anything other than a nation of losers:facepalm:

in other hand no podium today for the mighty Albania :(  As Colturi did not take advantage from the course set by the mighty albanian team coach Signor Colturi in the 1st frame

Bad luck

All in all, current W Slalom level is simply abysmal

Another great performance for the :LAT Latvian Vlhova, Dzeni Germane  I'm hopeful this is just the beginning and we will be seeing her for years to come. The technique is there, time to work on the consistency and attack.

On the top, Rast puts and end to Shiffrin's streak in the slalom and with a showcase run just after Mikaela had destroyed everyone else.  I wonder if Rast is going to get inside Shiffrin head just before the Olympics.
