Men's American Football NFL 2025

Curious if any non-Americans follow US college (American) football.  In the state where I live (South Carolina), there are no pro sports (closest is Atlanta, GA, which has football, baseball, and basketball, and Charlotte, NC has basketball), but most everyone has their favorite college team.  I don't think it's a stretch to say that college football is more popular than pro football.

(My user name here has the name of the university I attended--Clemson.)

I watched some college football myself, not this season yet except OSU vs Texas. Some of the matches where power house schools pay D1 minnows to win 63-0 ain't my thing to watch

I used to follow College Football quite extensively, but after they closed the OTT service ESPN America down, it became a real problem to watch games here in Italy (unless going to illegal streams)

fortunately, this year DAZN started to broadcast a good number of ABC/ESPN games a week, so it will be easier to have access to them

we still lack the top games from Fox and CBS, but at least we're sure to be able to watch all the main bowls and the championship playoffs

so far, I've been busy with many sport events, but I could watch ECU vs NC State and Colorado home loss to GT from the first week

hope to be able to catch up with a couple games from week #2 in the next few days, even if now my priority in terms of Football is the NFL, of course

Time for the first NFL game in Europe this season. Vikings vs Steelers show up in Dublin. Apparently the Irish government counts on some big income @OlympicIRL

Happy that the Steelers win, although it shouldn't be a close game at the end because Pittsburgh dominated the first three quarters. Hopefully they can get enough rest in the bye week to beat the Browns and Burrow-less Bengals in weeks 6 and 7.

Philip Rivers' possible return to NFL while being a semifinalist for the Hall of Fame certainly wasn't on my bingo card. But well. So far he's only on the practice squad

Chiefs are down and out at 6-8 and Mahomes potentially suffering a bad knee injury tonight.

Meanwhile Myles Garrett is one sack away from breaking the league record.

That could sideline him into next season.  Couldn't be a much worse day for the Chiefs who are now eliminated from the playoffs

    • Can these be covers are do they also have to be originals?
    • awful... the track is as fast (slow) as in Hamar Meike Veen skated the same time in the 1500m and Serena Pergher did the same in the 500m I think by February it will be even faster
    • I like the concept of this Festival of Music! I will also share a couple of Christmas songs from Spain's TISC Open 2024 representative David Bisbal.   The first one 'Los peces en el río' (The fish in the river) is a flamenco/pop cover of a traditional villancico originated in the 1500s and the second one 'Todo es posible en Navidad' (All is possible in Christmas) was relased last year.   Los peces en el río   Todo es posible en Navidad   I hope you like them and have a wonderful holiday season!
    • you don't even have idea how it works   last week he was the best of the field and now he's in bad shape?   on Friday he was 24th despite 4 (4!!!!!) missed shots and Yesterday he suddenly went out of shape?   be serious!   he either just had bad skis or he got sick, like many other athletes (see Vittozzi)   the snow in LGB is usually shit, results are always heavily influenced by that and Italy is one of the teams that usually struggle a lot in that place   nothing new and nothing to be worried about
    • Don't look now but the Bears might actually win the division in Ben Johnson's first season as HC...
    • Festival of Music   For this year’s Festival of Music I thought I would change it up a bit. Since we are approaching the festive holiday season, I want you all to post some festive songs from your country. If you don’t celebrate Christmas then perhaps some other song that has a special place in your heart during an important celebration.     I’m going to start with a Christmas song from Ireland’s TISC Annual 2023 representatives Picture This.     Picture This - This Christmas
    • pair Danilova/Tsiba hasn't fulfilled the national criteria to participate in the Games but their skating federation has sent a request to the national olympic committee for an exception and to include them to the TeamNL. https://www.schaatsen.nl/nieuws/knsb-dient-verzoek-in-voor-olympisch-startbewijs-danilova-tsiba/
    • Juniors were there recently and the track was awful   Although that's not necessarily bad. Tracks don't all need to be fast, a slow track (like the horribly slow one in Poland) simply favors a different style of athletes. Training a lot there doesn't really give much extra advantage though, not like in sliding sports where of course as host country you make sure your athletes know every single meter a year before the Olympics.    And to get back on topic: speed skater Elisa Dul broke her tibia and fibula in a training fall yesterday and will obviously be out of the OQT and so the Olympics.
    • The PSL race in Davos was (yet another) insult to a beautiful discipline. The red course (which was actually yellow) had several holes and an exposed ice sheet, which made the athletes slide way too long, causing DNFs or massive time losses. The only positive note is that Caffont won despite racing on the more dangerous course in the final
