It doesn't look like :GBR have anyone going for the all-around competition.

It’s been a whole year of poor :GBR performances at the big world champs.

Not even an hour passed an the local announcer has mistaken Austria for Australia...

Anyway almost half of the spectators foreign spectarors. A Brazilian family beside me, a group of Brits not far from them, and a Norwegian group at the tribune across of my seat

Are the tickets expensive? Or maybe Indonesians are not big fans of AG?

To make it worse, apparently his family is from Jakarta, and his grandparents were going to be able to watch him compete on the big stage: https://www.olympics.com/en/news/asher-hong-brings-his-gymnastics-home-to-jakarta  :(

Just got around to looking at the results from today...despite the news from Asher, looks like we'll have someone in 4, maybe 5, of the apparatus finals.  We'll see in a few hours after the last two subdivisions come through.  I think Brady Malone is the only returning 2024 Olympian for us. :USA

Could be both. The sport is indeed not that popular here. Not many common people know about the event until it went viral for the wrong reason (Israeli athletes participation).

Tickets are already cheap (almost 60% cheaper than in 2023), but maybe still too expensive for non gymnastics fans.

Currently the Premium VIP tickets for the apparatus finals are already sold out, I believe the buyers are mostly foreigners.

If only Rifda Irfanaluthfi is still competing, maybe it could boost the crowd numbers a bit.

Rifda Irfanaluthfi is the only Indonesian gymnast who I know in the past decade that has the capability and has won the gold medal at the sea games as well as winning a silver at the 2018 Asian Games. It's unfortunate by the time she qualified for the 2024 Olympics, her body has been beaten up by injuries and did not perform well at Paris.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
