Sepak takraw and kabaddi, two awesome sports that could so easily have been part of the World Games :(

The thing with sepak takraw is they barely do anything to promote it and busy spouting nonsense like "we gonna be in the 2032 Olympics".

Like yeah sure mate, good luck in doing that while in this last 10 years teqball managed to gather triple the number of national federations in sepak takraw

But teqball is so much less fun to watch :(

They should just abandon the Olympic thing, that isn't gonna happen, because just like korfball or something it is simply way too small and it isn't gonna grow big. Accept that, and realize the World Games are a perfect place for lots of tiny and obscure sports most people have never even heard of.

But yeah, if they don't accept that, it isn't gonna look good unfortunately.

"If breaking can make it, then we definitely can make it too!" - a middle aged man in ISTAF council, probably

If Olympics goes to South East Asia one or both the sports could be played.

Kabaddi for example is in the South East Asian Games this year with Thailand expected to win all 6 golds ( Normal Kabaddi, Kabaddi 3X3 and Circle Kabaddi) There were reports that Beach Kabaddi, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Mixed Team Kabaddi were also considered.

I wonder if developing all these different formats weakens rather than strengthens the sport?  :mumble:

Would it not be better to concentrate on establishing M&F Classic Kabaddi inter-continentally rather than confusing the issue?

There used to be ISTAF super series with grand finale before but it stopped after 2 years. It was fun.

Eurosport used to show it sometimes as well, bringing it to a European audience. Same feeling as you about the Super Series: it was fun. Emphasis on 'was', sadly.
