Where can I bet my mortgage, parents and intellectual property rights to anything I might ever invent (unlikely as that is to ever be relevant) on Lucas Braathen carrying Brazil's flag in the opening ceremony and Nicole Silveira carrying it in the closing ceremony? (snow federation chooses for opening, ice federation chooses for closing in Brazil)

I hope my "cousin" Lucas Pinheiro Braathen will be one of the flagbear

*My full name is Luiz Guilherme Pinheiro haha

I hope not, because what I'm hoping for is that the person I'm cooking dinner for at this moment will carry the flag, but yeah, Braathen exists so that's unlikely :p

One of my favorite Totallympics threads though anyway, always fun to see who is chosen :cheer:

I mean it could easily be both at the opening ceremony (remember its one person per gender)

Ah yeah, is that still the case? :yikes:

I remember last time not every country did that, but I had overlooked that entirely, there is hope!

  • 2 months later...

Apparently, the IOC has accepted Italy's request to have four (FOUR!!) different flag bearers. What a circus.

    • Very familiar with all 3! Masterpieces as usual from John Williams
    • Wow, Norway really wants nq after couple of horrible selections in recent years.    For some reason all love Serbia's song, but to me it's borderline (we've seen all the hype from Luke Black, and his final result).    Finland made the only right decision,    Italy - WTF? Like this song is fucking outdated. I don't mind when it's nostalgic, but this is just horrible song for Eurovision. How could you not send Ditonellapiaga who by far destroyed everyone with the staging?    Bulgaria - messy as hell, I expected more from Dara since I knew her beforehand. There are some catchy parts, but they did not sound cogesive at all.    Germany - great job, although public vote didn't like neither those songs neither Germany.
