So, I'm just getting caught up on this now (was watching on mute, with the hockey game on, at work). Everyone could have handled that better. If you think your opponent is cheating, either go directly to the official, or say it directly to him. Don't just say it under your breath and walk away and then act innocent. Then Kennedy could have been more diplomatic, but I'm sure it's not fun being accused of cheating at the Olympics. At the end of the day, these are high-level competitive athletes in the heat of the moment. -

In 2006 we lost to Canada 0-16 -

acceptable defeat 0-6 by the Italian girls against the mighty USA despite awful and biased refereeing, we only gave up 6 goals to the world best team -

Now it'll probably be even harder to beat Norway in the cross country relay, because they have Klaebo. Back then, there were no sprint specialists, and even Daehli was beatable. Even in 2002, Zorzi came very close to beating Alsgaard in the relay race finish. -
I think slalom is an inherently unpredictable race, so an upset there is 'less of an upset' than in other races, if that makes sense. DNFs are very frequent, the course and the slope can make a huge difference, the bib (or the starting order, more accurately, as it's mostly relevant in the 2nd run) can also be a factor. Shiffrin, for instance, in spite of being clearly the greatest slalom skier of all time, has never won more than 7 in a row, I believe. Even at her best, she never managed to win all the slaloms in one season (she won every time she started in 2015/16, but she missed half the races because of an injury).
