World Championships Medal Counts in the Road to Summer Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 Road to LA 2028

The World Championships have now disappeared from the World Skate Calendar, just 10 days before the competition.  No news at all but here they say cancelled. The only WST Park event was the one in Rome (Ostia), while for Street there is also another one in November in Japan, I have no idea which one it makes more sense to count.

Terrible...Then maybe the best option is to discard them and do not count any World championships in Skateboarding for 2025? Hopefully they will hold a proper World Championships in 2026 and 2027.

Should the 2025 Surfing World Games really be considered the sport's world championship this year? It doesn't seem like the main countries care much about this tournament. Perhaps the World League results would be better. :mumble:

I agree the level looks to be quite low, but I think it's because this is the post-Olympic year. In the previous quadriennium, Surfing World Games has been an Olympic qualification event and I guess the level was much better. So hopefully the quality will increase in 2026 and 2027.

When there is a standalone event I prefer to count that rather than a multi-stage event, unless this is impossible (like for example for Triathlon, where the title of "World Champion" is given through the Championship Series).

Spain just overtook us:wall: Will we reach 10 gold medals this year? We have a terrible ratio of gold medals to medals overall: with 31 medals won, we have only 7 gold and France with 32 medals has 10 gold medals. It's a post-Olympic year, so it's just a curiosity, but unfortunately this is our big problem in most summer or winter editions of the Games.

We are still under water - can will win 40 medals, including 10 gold, before December?

Brazil has 12 medals in 7 different sports!!! Excellent so far, but I hope we still can win a few more gold medals this year. :yes

No a dilemma for the next week :d Which weight categories should we consider as the Olympic ones for Weightlifting? Or we can just count all of them and then remove the non-olympic ones. Or hold on adding them in our medal count until the weight classes will be announced :mumble:

I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
