Various continental championships held this week.

Men's Eurohockey II was won by :WAL. They qualify for next years' world cup intercontinental qualifiers together with :IRL (2nd) & :SCO (3rd).

Among the women, :ITA, :WAL, :AUT & :SUI rounded up the top 4 and qualified for the same event.

In Pan America, :ARG won the men's continental competition and qualified for the 2026 world cup. :USA, :CAN & :CHI will go to the WC qualifiers.

Among the women's, :ARG won but as they had already secured a WC quota via FIH pro league, :USA takes the continental quota instead. :URU, :CHI & :CAN will go to the WC qualfiers.

@LDOG just to clarify, the Chilean team wasn’t missing any key players due to injury? I don’t follow field hockey at all, so I want to know how credible the win is :d

No, I don't think so. It's the same roster from last few tournaments.

It's not so surprising to me anyways. In my eyes, USA, Canada and Chile are all the same level currently. IMO Chile prevailed lately mostly because they hosted the last pan am cup and also pan am games.

The Women's competition, hosted by Chile, was won by Netherlands (2-1 win over Argentina). Third title in a row for them and 5th of the last six in dispute. Bronze for Belgium (5-1 over China).

:USA (Men) withdrew from the qualifiers in Egypt due to the warning issued by the Department of State to US nationals in the middle east.

They had lost their first two games and were already eliminated anyway.

    • Just realised there is Teqball here     Explains why there is no Sepaktakraw    I think the Teqball federation may have pledged to contribute to the hosting costs for the sport making it an easy choice for organizers and anyhow retired / 3rd string Sepaktakraw players only play it so believe that was the reason.     Anyway hate that artificial sport
