:CAN demolishes :JPN 18-6 in the play-in to advance to the quarterfinals! :cheer::d

We started with 5 fouls with 5:30 to go, but managed to clean it up by not picking up any more throughout the rest of the game. That was huge for us, considering Japan was 12/13 on FT’s heading into this game, definitely a strength for them. Grant-Allen and Brown were on fire, I think Grant-Allen even got double digits?

Crozon struggled with all of her points coming on layups and easy baskets but that’s been the story for the entire tournament. Hope she can gain some confidence from the points she scored and help us to win against Spain.

Keys for the game: Crozon, Cleaning up on the turnovers, Not expending all their energy into the early parts of the game because it’s been a trend that they’ve been getting gassed out (besides this one) which lets the other team going on a run.

:CAN defeats :ESP 11-10 in a low scoring defensive masterclass by both teams, avoiding a 3rd consecutive QF finish at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup:hyper::cheer:

Cassandra Brown with the game-winning bucket with 5.0 seconds left to go in the game, and Saicha Grant-Allen was a beast as always

:MGL women beat :USA 18-15 in one of the biggest 3X3 upsets till date. Also a full stop to everyone who criticized the Mongolian team when they qualified for Tokyo Olympics.

Mongolia in the final of the women's tournament at the World Cup! Can this be the first final in any Olympic team sport?

Italy in the coming years may field a very old, but certainly prestigious men's national team. The names involved would be the wizard Bargnani (the real organizer of the thing), Belinelli, Gallinari and Mancinelli. For now is just a crazy idea, but..

Would be interesting to see that team. Transition to 3x3 isnt that straightforward but is doable with NBA players.

Upset in Copenhagen! The new Italian team, led by Amedeo Della Valle, beats Switzerland, the world vice-champions. Tonight, another tough challenge against Serbia.

Belinelli didn't retire? Is it just about classic basketball?

    • Yes, the Africa Cup is counted, but I mean the Americup will be removed before the end of the qualification period (1 December 2027). Because the event finished before 1 December 2025.
    • It is already counted. Madagascar has won both men's and women's tournaments.
    • I think the 2025 Africa Cup will be counted in the Olympic ranking because it was played on December 5-7, while ther Americup was played on November 27-30 so it should not be counted, right?   The ranking cut-off is 1 December 2027 and the events of the last 2 years are counted, so I think the Americup 2025 will be cut.
