Dutch commentator: "If this ended up actually being a DQ for Benjamin, I'd immediately stop with this entire championships, that would have been utter bullshit."

:p

On the World feed, they never mentioned the DQ or the reinstatement.  Didn't watch the USA broadcast, but I'm sure they were all over this story.

I mean, all respect for athletes who fight through pain, but if you can't even do a start without limping....maybe you should have let someone else have the chance.

Here she already 9th athlete on the track. They wouldn't let run anyone else.

Italy still have a chance at bronze for Battocletti (according to bookmakers, she's the third favorite behind Kenya) and we could break the historic record from 1995: six medals and now probably 7. We're just a littlendisappointment  of "only" 2 gold medals for complete success, but it is what it is. In 1995, we had 2 gold medals, but it was a different times.

Maybe they should have given extra-bronze for Nigerian guy in 400H. I don’t know , just sayin

No way :p

Either DQ or don't DQ someone, but don't go around with an extra medal....if you give Nathaniel a bronze, you're saying Benjamin should not have been ahead of him and so should be DQ'ed. Can't do that without actually DQ'ing Benjamin...

It is a pity Maria Andrejczyk didn’t make to JT finał today. One of my fav Polish athletes these days 👍 Another Polish thrower is in the final with a nice PB though

A girl with great potential who only manages to get going once every 4-5 years. She's fortunate to have won silver at the 2020 Olympics.

    • I'm also reminded as I know Canadians are painfully aware that if figures hadn't been a part of the 1984 Olympics, then Brian Orser would have won gold.  Hamilton could have finished 4th in the free skate that year and still beat Orser who finished 7th in the figures

    • I would like to see the Summer Games in Italy after long time ago: 1960, especially since the last times we have only had winter editions, but with this political class it will be difficult First of all, such games should serve to promote and strengthen local sport, and we have a problem with that. If I remember good, that, 1960 was a very successful year for us in sports - maybe some normal people were still in power in that time, no idiots, like now?
    • If a credible bid had come across the IOC's radar it would have been awarded by now imo. Which western country is going to submit a good bid and get the games?
