:SRI 's Rumesh Tharanga threw 89.37m yesterday in the men's javelin. Now three South Asian countries have medal contenders in this event. Interesting how that works.

Looks like Birmingham will have a very anti Israel council after May local elections. Could be some large scale protests against Israel at the European Athletics encouraged by them.

81.13m for :CAN Camryn Rogers in women’s hammer throw at the Texas Relays in her season opener  :cheer::yikes::yikes:

NR and #4 performance all-time :cheer:

Keeping to the women's hammer theme - worlds silver medalist Jie Zhao has gone out to 78.22 in chengdu a new :CHN and asian record.[tough Chinese women absolutely rule this throwing event in their continent holding the the top 14 all time places].

Very quiet weekend for sports in general, but we have two early season outdoor events on YouTube

Carifta Games from :GRN - these are the Caribbean Junior Athletics Championships, so bound to be names from the future involved.

Miramar Invitational from Florida :USA, has some pretty big names.

Keep an eye for :JAM Shanoya Douglas in the upcoming years...

22.11 in the U20 200m, new WL and tied for #3 on the U20 all-time list with the legend Allyson Felix, and 11.13 in the U20 100m despite a bad start at the CARIFTA Games. And she's 18 years old :hyper:

Also, other results of note

:FRA Jimmy Gressier with a new European record of 12:51 in the men's 5km at the Urban Trail de Lille, moving to #2 on the all-time list and only about two seconds off the WR.

In the women's 5km, 17 year old :ETH Marta Alemayo went 14:15 to move to #3 on the all-time list.

14 year old :USA Camryn Dailey with an U14 WR of 22.73 in the girls 200m into headwind at the Florida Relays, and another 14 year old :USA Melanie Doggett was 2nd in 22.80 :yikes:

:USA Max Thomas 9.90 PB in the men's 100m at the Florida Relays, now #2 on the top list for the season

:USA Monae Nichols with a PB of 7.07m in women's long jump at the Miramir Invitational

22.25 for :USA Mariah Maxwell in the women's 200m at the Texas Relays, although 3.8m/s wind.

the 7.07 was wind aided

Yes, you're right

But unless it's in a windy location, wind has a less visible effect on jumps compared to the track events.
