NCAA Cross Country finals this weekend.

NCAA Finals coming up on Saturday. Division II and III are live on ncaa.com & YT. Division I we will have to wait for the YT replays.

Here are the previews - big story this season as far as the US media are concerned has been the emergence of teenage phenom Jane Hedengren of Brigham Young who will challenge the top African imports in the women's race. Some familiar surnames, but with African names you're never quite sure if this is an actual family in our sense or some kind of distant clan relationship.

And the team competitions are technically the most important aspect, since it is only the team competition that gets an actual prize.

Interesting "shopping" made by our federation.

Anna Svrcek - slovak dad & japanese mom agreed to represent Slovakia

The name will not say you anything I guess, she is a schoolgirl living with her parents in Japan

however believe it or not but run this year the 2 best world times in steeple in her age category. Experts calling her as a huge talent in the event. well, let see, She is already with this switching qualified for the next years World Junior Champs.

Fun fact in 3 different events she already has better PBs than are the U20 WCh strict entry standards (1500m, Steeple and 5000m)

Last update from almost a month ago now. Zachery Bradford vaulted over 5.90 on december 5th,as a comment on his instagram video joked, that might be some sort of pole vault world record in december :roflmao: .his next competition should be at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit on the 16 and 17th.

The World Cross Country Championships from Tallahassee :USA are on.Sunday.  Moved forward about three months on the calendar for some reason.  Anyway, startlists are here.  Seemingly visa issues as usual, but whether that is down to US intransigeance or national inefficiency is as always a matter of debate.

    • Hey guys, I contribute Skeleton articles for a new winter-sports focused website called "All things Snow".   I was wondering if any of you could please spare a few moments to read my latest article on the World Cup finale in Altenberg a few weeks ago.   Any feedback on length, content, or just general tips will be greatly appreciated. I'll be sure to implement them in my Olympic Skeleton recap pieces. Thanks!   https://allthingssnow.net/2026/01/19/pfeifer-and-wyatt-win-the-finale-meylemans-and-weston-seal-crystal-globes/

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
