I think they should include a bronze medal and 5th-8th playoffs. It would be the most fair, for sure.

Canada beat PR head-to-head, so I have no problem there. Canada also won their group, unlike Venezuela. But I don't like short qualifiers like this where each team doesn't play each other. And it seems like runs surrendered is arbitrary.

Venezuela still looked like the second strongest eligible Pan American team. I mean they are still within striking distance of Japan and can still qualify ahead of us.

 

Canada did well to win Group A, but I wouldn't expect them to defeat the Dominican Republic or Venezuela in a head to head match.
