The best moment of the night was the duet / duel between :FIN Käärijä and :CRO Baby Lasagna.

Oh yes, that was absolutely fantastic! And I loved Käärijä's "Europapa thank you!" punch in the EBU's face, Mr Österdahl will absolutely have been not amused :d

Oh and I think the biggest issue last night especially was giving certain countries lots of extra time for their stage props. It should be simple: make your staging in such a way that the change fits within a 'post card', if it doesn't, make it shorter.

How would Norway be high in the jury votes? That felt like one of those hundred generic pop songs that appear every month, but not one of the good ones :p

The Serbia/Montenegro, Lithuania/Latvia, Greece/Cyprus combos, San Marino/Italy, the absolutely massive sympathy vote for Israel....I'd say those were bigger issues, but at least very predictable :p

Norway > Estonia / UK in the same category "pop songs" and better vocal from him than Estonian

Seems that Eurovision 2026 might be cancelled

Quote

According to @oe24.at an ÖVP top representative revealed that the Austrian 🇦🇹 Chancellor Christian Stocker does not want ORF and the city of Vienna to host Eurovision 2026 if Israel 🇮🇱 is excluded!

According to the media If the ORF drops out it would have to pay up to 40 million euros

Well it's more likely that they will allow :ISR to compete in Vienna rather than cancel the event. (Did anyone even checked with them if they want to compete? lol)

You already have 24 countries confirmed with 3 out of big5 competing, ISR would make it 25, plus :POR and :FIN is on the verge. Still chances for :ITA to compete and :ARM & :GEO just kept silent, to balance things out they actively considering debut for  :KAZ so we still might have 30 countries, which is more than enough for successful contest. Also, some countries just using this situation as a bargaining opportunity to decrease their participation fees.

Let's be honest, the boycotting countries are mostly the ones that struggled to have a successful entry in the last 5 years (as a minimum), so likely bye bye to :ESP:POL:IRL:NED:SLO:BEL

:ISR will officially compete. :ESP:IRL:NED:SLO will be boycotting.

    • I think they incorrectly translated Ukrainian word "nahorody" - it is not a full synonym of "medal". Its cocrrect translation is "award". Meanwhile russian tennis playes switched for Potapova ->  Rakhimova ->
    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
