Men's Quarterfinals

 Ehlers/Wickler v.  Perušič/Schweiner

  Åhman/Hellvig v.  Evandro/Arthur

 Holting Nilsson/Andersson v.  Schalk/Shaw

 Rotar/Gauthier-Rat v.  Pfretzner/Winter  (was expecting it to be the complete opposite)

 

Lot of surprises in the bottom half.

Two Swedish teams in semi finals  We have 2300 licensed players and not known for our beaches. 

Åhman/Hellvig apparently had 2 hours of practice together in the last months.

I'm surprised by this second pair; their blocking quality is spectacular.

Well I wouldn't have been that surprised, but then you told me this. They're not human 

 

Holting Nilsson/Andersson have really came into their own this season.

Two teams in the women's semifinals.  It's a shame that Duda/Ana Patricia got injured; I wouldn't be surprised if we had three teams there (despite the dangerous American pair).

 

Melissa/Brandie were unlucky; I think they would have done better against Thamela/Victoria or the Latvian pair.

GOLD and SILVER to Sweden already before final. An all Swedish Gold medal game. So so impressed by our guys.

Medal matches are set! 
 

On the men’s side, it’s an all-Swedish final between Holting Nilsson/Andersson and Olympic champions Åhman/Hellvig, with  Rotar/Gauthier-Rat taking on Olympic silver medalists  Ehlers/Wickler for bronze. 
 

On the women’s side, it’s  Samoilova/Graudina vs  Nuss/Brasher for the title, both are in their first final, with an all-Brazilian bronze medal match between Carol/Rebecca and Thamela/Victoria
