Can someone give a final quota number for Canada? Thanks.

Nope! We don't know yet, could still theoretically get one or two more Alpine Skiing quotas.

But currently we are at an even 200, 100 men and 100 women. No, really. Not kidding.

(200 is accounting for the one alpine quota and the one cross country quota that Canada has already accepted through re-allocation)

Canada confirmed their freestyle skiing quotas. This is the team I would expect to be named:

Men:

Moguls (3): Mikäel Kingsbury, Elliott Vaillancourt, Julien Viel

Aerial's (4): Alexandre Duchaine, Miha Fontaine, Lewis Irving, Emile Nadeau

Ski Cross (4): Kevin Drury, Reece Howden, Kristofer Mahler, Jared Schmidt

Halfpipe (3): Andrew Longino, Brendan Mackay, Dylan Martineau

Slopestyle/Big Air (2): Dylan Deschamps, Evan McEachran

Women:

Moguls (4): Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert, Ashley Koehler, Jessica Linton, Maia Schwinghammer

Aerial's (1): Marion Thenault

Ski Cross (3): Brittany Phelan, Hannah Schmidt, Marielle Thompson

Halfpipe (4): Amy Fraser, Dillan Glennie, Rachael Karker, Cassie Sharpe

Slopestyle/Big Air (4): Olivia Asselin, Elena Gaskell, Megan Oldham, Naomi Urness

A bit surprised we're not sending a second women aerialist... but other than that, looks about right :yes

Yeah same a second aerialist makes more sense than a fourth in moguls for sure since there is the team event

I'm getting 206 so far.

Alpine Skiing: 11

Biathlon: 8

Bobsleigh: 14

Cross-Country Skiing: 12

Curling: 11

Figure Skating: 12

Freestyle Skiing: 32

Ice Hockey: 48

Luge: 6*

Short Track: 10

Skeleton: 4

Ski Jumping: 4

Snowboarding: 19

Speed Skating: 15

Luge is still questionable because we don't know whether or not the two doubles teams will meet eligibility requirements in time.

I don’t get it? Only one woman competes in the team event and Thenault will the one.

All of our moguls team has the potential for top 15 finishes (Fontaine and Montminy do as well, but lesser so), and Koehler who was on the brink of making the team is youngster on the rise.

Yeah I guess that’s true but Montminy is also a youngster on the rise. And would be great to give her some Olympic experience since she is a world junior champion.

    • At the beginning, she was considering a helicopter transfer within that day as 3 companies offered her that option. But later, she did not give a clear answer but said that she will compete PGS. Some information still seem to be a bit unclear, but some information does not want to released to public. I am not so sure. But what actually happens, we have to wait for that certain day
    • Yes, they also wrote about It months ago on the olympics website: https://www.olympics.com/en/news/ester-ledecka-chooses-snowboard-over-alpine-downhill-milano-cortina-2026
    • Not really. Maybe you heard it wrong. She decided to give up downhill and will focus on snowboarding parallel Giant slalom. After that, she should participate in Super G and Team Combined.    Btw, maybe, but really maybe, she may take part in one downhill training which is a condition in order to participate in downhill race. Why am saying that is the fact that if the downhill will be postponed to another day due to weather conditions, she would go for the downhill race as well.
    • Actually it was announced some time ago she will do the Snowboarding PGS on Day 2 and then the Alpine Super-G on Day 6 (+ still in discussion process the start in the Alpine Combined Teams on Day 4)
    • Apparently she changed her mind
    • didn't Ledecka said that she's going to choose alpine skiing in Cortina rather than snowboard in Livigno at the Games?    if yes, why make this race Today?   or she did make up her mind and decided to go for the safe gold in PGS?
