Based on their final team announcement, it looks like :FIN Finland rejected an ice dance quota.

Finland rejected it because Finland has only one active ice dance pair (Turkkila / Versluis) on the senior level where both skaters are Finnish citizens. Finland's second pair in the World Championships was Yuka Orihara / Juho Pirinen. Orihara is Japanese. She applied for the Finnish citizenship but did not acquire it in time.

Japan just had their nationals and announced their team: https://www.olympics.com/en/milano-cortina-2026/news/figure-skating-japan-team-announcement-milano-cortina-2026

As for the women, it was Sakamoto, Chiba, and Nakai who made the cut.  (I was rooting for Nakai...love her Wonderful World routine.)

Yuna Aoki was fantastic and defeats both Chiba and Nakai at 4 Continents.

:LTU Aleksandra Golovkina-Dolinskė (who is number 3 in Lithuania) announced about shifting to represent :GBR  I'm sure we won't really going to see her achieving much in international competitions

It's due to a dispute with the federation, not about maximizing opportunities to compete internationally.

It's hardly a dispute... She simply lost to another 2 younger skaters in every competition and got upset that shes not selected to go to Europeans or Olympics... Its not a dispute, its lack of self-awareness

The person who alleges to have been sexually assaulted by :CAN:DEN Nikolaj Sørensen has come forward publicly.

There is an interview where Foy goes into more details, and I find it particularely heartbreaking because her reasons for not coming forward at the time (concerns about professional retaliation and concerns about the effect it would have on Sørensen and his family) remind me a lot of why someone I know who got sexually assaulted (and had bulletproof evidence of it) didn't report it to the police.
