Women:

  • As mentioned above, :AND Andorra and :CHN China will fight for the 20th spot in the rankings. On the FIS website it says they're separated by 146 points but in my calculated rankings, they are separated by just 51 points and I just double checked my work so not sure what's going on there

Same thing that happened during Trondheim (and probably before, but I hadn't noticed it yet). Start lists for today are out and are, as per usual, on the page that will later show the result:

https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=46840

But instead of only counting them when the start list turns into an actual result, they already count the start list, so to say :d So, an athlete with bib 1 gets points for the win (temporarily), bib 2 gets points for second place, and so on. That will of course automatically be resolved once we have an actual result later today, but it makes for confusing stuff.

.

The quota simulation still needs some work, no country is listed as having 8 men for example, not even Norway :d

https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/list/owg/cc/2026

.

:USA USA passed :ITA Italy for 5th in the men's nations rankings giving them an extra Olympic quota.

and thanks to having enough athletes to be able to compete in the team sprint, :CHN China is back ahead of :AND Andorra in the women's rankings for 20th place by 7 points and since none no athletes from either country are competing tomorrow, that's how it'll finish.

I think that once the remaining 10 quotas are added in (I can see one or two getting used but that is even a stretch), Norway, Sweden, France, Finland, and USA would all get their 8th male quota. Kind of bizarre that the simulation only says that Finland and USA have the remaining room for them though.

Can Italy still overtake the USA tomorrow?

The gap between the two countries is around 46 points. If the Italian skiers have the better day tomorrow overall, then Italy should be able to take back 5th place

Pellegrino skipped the team sprint today to fight tomorrow for 3rd place in the general classification with Valnes. I hope that the Italian team is also monitoring the situation in the Nations Cup and this was also planned in this scenario.

China will end the women's ranking 7 points ahead of Andorra in 20th, meaning there is one fewer spot 'on the market' for other countries (although to be fair, if Andorra had gotten it, the extra reallocated spot would most likely be accepted by China anyway :p).

.

:POL Poland overtook :UKR Ukraine for the 16th place in the women's standings yesterday. Nobody from these countries starts today so it's Poland that is the last country with 4 quota places confirmed.

    • TISC Annual 2025 - Voting Order & Provisional Grand Final Date     I have arranged a voting schedule for the upcoming TISC Annual 2025. Please see your jury's designated voting time in the table below. For convenience I have included a column showing the host country time in GMT and the local time for each jury based on their specific time-zone.   Please check to ensure the local time shown is correct as mistakes can happen!   Fortunately I have only had to make one swap to ensure every jury has a voting window within a reasonable time in their local time. That was achieved by swapping and . China will now vote in position #12 while moves to position #25.   For any juries who cannot personally deliver their votes during the live Grand Final, I will post their votes on their behalf.   Now that I have the voting schedule, I can begin work on the voting and scoreboard templates.   The provisional date I am setting for the Grand Final - Saturday 17th January. That's just under 3 weeks from now which I feel is necessary to allow enough time for me to fit in all the preparations around the holidays and an upcoming exam!     Session 1 Host Time (GMT) Local Time Jury Voting 09:00 10:00 Denmark 09:10 10:10 Sweden 09:20 10:20 Slovakia 09:30 16:30 Indonesia 09:40 09:40 Great Britain 09:50 10:50 Italy 10:00 11:00 Spain 10:10 15:10 Kazakhstan Break 10:20 - 12:00 GMT Session 2 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 12:00 14:00 Ukraine 12:10 14:10 Bulgaria 12:20 13:20 Germany 12:30 20:30 China 12:40 13:40 France 12:50 18:20 India 13:00 14:00 Tunisia 13:10 13:10 Portugal 13:20 15:20 Greece Break 13:30 - 16:00 GMT Session 3 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 16:00 18:00 Israel 16:10 17:10 Serbia 16:20 18:20 Romania 16:30 13:30 Brazil 16:40 17:40 Poland 16:50 10:50 Mexico 17:00 18:00 Netherlands 17:10 12:10 United States 17:20 18:20 Slovenia Break 17:30 - 19:00 GMT Session 4 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 19:00 22:00 Turkey 19:10 20:10 Albania 19:20 20:20 Malta 19:30 19:30 Ireland 19:40 16:40 Argentina 19:50 21:50 Lithuania 20:00 14:00 Guatemala 20:10 12:10 Canada
    • @intoronto @Micki @evil betty thanks for giving me to know that and all of you did answering in the same moment
    • Okay, thanks. I saw that too and could not make any sense out of it but I don't know enough about ski jumping.
    • Nathan Crumpton has not competed in skeleton since the 2022, is a sprinter now.  Carlos Maeder competed last time in alpine, is 47 now and skiied last april and was far outside being good enough.  is still possible.
    • Yeah, American Samoa has snowboarder Kanoe Pelfrey, but I don’t think she’ll qualify in halfpipe. Ghana has skeleton athlete Akwasi Frimpong, but it will be difficult for him too.
    • has a snowboarder, unlikely to qualify. Same with in skeleton.  has capability of qualifying in alpine skiing, but they are on the outside looking in right now.
    • It looks like a problem at the FIS website. The same problem occurs in their cup standings tab where the points don't add up for some reason: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/ski-jumping/cup-standings.html?sectorcode=JP&seasoncode=2026&cupcode=COC&disciplinecode=ALL&gendercode=M&nationcode=
    • In comparsion to 2022 we are still missing some countries, those like  and  are and will be missing under their flags by obvious reasons, an athlete from  is retired, either of  or  will get quota in skeleton, but what about  and  ?
    • I am puzzled by the olympic rankings for the guys competing at the continental cup level. Why are the 'winter cup' points not being added to their ranking score? For instance David Rygl is shown on the olympic lists as being 144th with 2 points from the continental cup, his bio says that he has 2 summer points and 16 winter points, but under 'all' just 2. Do some winter points not count or something?
    • but the 1/8 vs Senegal or RDC , both are very strong ... the team was not convincing until now , pretty random game
