It's almost like not all events are equally predictable, isn't it?

They won 4/4 in rowing, 2/2 in sailing and 2/2 in the velodrome. Cant say the same for GB.

Can someone do the calculations on this... properly? Would love to see a comparison of the events we thought we'd medal in vs the ones we actually did!

The thing is that there's no really objective way of doing this.

Everybody views things differently. Some people just view the reigning world champ as automatically favourite. For others it is the world number 1 (not always the same person as the world champ). Some people take a longer view and look at performance over time. Others will make judgement based on 'gut'.

None of those methods is objectively correct. The world champion one might be the closest, but even that is open to outside things - for example what if someone missed those world champs through injury but is fit here?

And then there's just form and fitness during the competition itself.

Funding is being cut for every sport due to probably not making top 5.

Please source this claim and any similar future claims or you will be removed

They also got a bronze in the women's 400m H last night that should have been a silver.

Shame on them for not getting exactly the medals that might have been predicted for them before in every event!

Very valid, perhaps best odds on bet 365 could be the comparison metric?
