I don't think the triathlon/duathlon is confirmed yet, or is it? Does anyone know?

Apparently Friday, and if they can't swim in the Seine, it'll be a duathlon

Not kidding

It always struck me as weird that there was no Plan B for the triathlon venue. When I was on staff for the 2015 Pan American Games, each sport had a backup venue planned for including triathlon. The backup venue for triathlon was the Welland Flatwater Center for those wondering

I guess one medal tomorrow would be a relative success?

My biggest interests tomorrow re: team Canada will be the men's 200m butterfly, both the women's and mixed doubles matches in tennis and Tammara Thibeault's first fight. And of course the women's soccer team.

I'm also going to be looking with an optimistic eye towards the synchro diving tomorrow - I think Miller and Mackay are one of several teams that are on the bubble of being in the conversation here.

The organizers were obstinate, and using it as a showpiece was more important than the competition.

Not that it's unique to Paris '24, hell, Calgary '88 built ski jumps in an undersized wind tunnel

Canada needs to beat Spain handily and finish in the top 2 or they will risk playing the US in the semis in men's basketball
