Wumo 2,938 Posted July 8 #1 Share Posted July 8 (edited) This idea originate thanks to @heywoodu's post back in 2021, where he suggested this concept. The main premise is very simple: you take the following tables, and fill it up with individual athletes, duos and teams you think will win a certain event. If the athlete, duo or team win said event, you get the points. The player/predictor with the most points wins. Duos are defined as two athletes, no more or less, competing together. Examples: Beach volley - men and women, archery - mixed team event, artistic swimming - duet, track cycling - madison, rowing - men's double sculls and so forth. Note! Duos don't have to to be named by the athletes' names in events where nations are limited to only one quota. In beach volley and shooting mixed events, 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol, where nations can compete with more than one team, the names of the athletes in the duo have to be named in the table to count. Example: Beach volley - Women - Barbara and Carolina are accepted. Brazil 1 is not accepted. Teams are defined as three or more athtletes competing together. Examples: Archery - Men's and Women's team event, track cycling - team sprint, men's and women's, volleyball - men's and women's, rowing - women's four and so forth. Predictors can only choose athletes, duos or team from the same nation in up to maximum 50% of the events in each sport. Example: Athletes and duos from China in diving events can only be choosen for a maximum of 4 events as diving have 8 events in total. Example: Athletes and duos from China in badminton events can only be choosen for a maximum of 2 events as badminton have 5 events in total. This is to keep under the 50% limit for each sport. Example: For artistic gymnastics the limit for women's events are 3 (total events 6) and for men 4 (total events 8). To make another example where this rule would apply would be wrestling. Men's wrestling have 12 events and women's have 6 events. The limit for each gender in this case would be 6 for men and 3 for women where the same NOC can be selected. Example for team sports: Predictors can only choose one team from the same NOC in the basketball tournament as there are only two events in this sport, women's and men's. 3x3 basketball is listed as a separate sport. Predictors can only choose an athlete for one single individiual event and one single duo event or team event. Example: If a predictor chooses Simone Biles to win women's floor, the same predictor can choose team USA to the win the women's team event. However Simon Biles can't be chosen by the same predictor to also win the women's individual all-around event. Example: Archery: An athlete from South Korea can be chosen to win an individual event, but him or her can't be chosen by the same predictor to win both the team event and the mixed event if he or she competes in both these events. The predictor have to choose either the team event or the mixed event. The individual event table goes from 30-1. The duo event table goes from 30 to 27 to 24 to 21 down to 3. The team event table goes from 30 to 28 to 26 to 24 down to 2. the The idea is to put your most certain winners highest. Below you can see the design of the tables. The official prediction design for the tables will be posted in a separate post in this thread.
