Games against them will be considered draws which is rather stupid since QF are decided upon group stages results. Spain has made a protest as it potentially undermines their chances to get themselves a favorable path.

How about they ignore the results against the 4th place team in each group to determine quarterfinal seeding?

Both men and womens? dang, I was hoping they'd give qualifying a real shot.

Would be great, even in normal conditions. Level disparity tend to offer too much difference between last seeded teams and thus free byes to boost your GA.
