So we are set up for yet another heroic turnaround from Laura Asadaskauitè, she has 30 secs time to make up for the top 9.

She did it! Ninth place, 13 secs down.  Zillekens :GER is the one crying.

In fact, an OR for the Laser Run!

Is she going to punch Laura?

What a great TV results graphic!

There is a shooting race for final positions and when it gets interesting, they removes it.

You should have seen the swimming!  Absolutely no graphics at all apart from the clock and name of the winner!  Just completely useless. :bones:

At least during swimming you can see whole pool so we have some idea how are athletes doing.

But during laser run it is quite stupid to show shooting info only for top5 and than hiding it.

All that changes to make modern pentathlon "more interesting" and when  they have a chance to present this sport to world during olympics, it's such disaster.

The horses seem pretty good, no horse punching this time.

Lady Commentator is Heather Fell who got a medal in 2004, I think.  She was very sure that all the problems this time were driver error.

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
