This is genuinely the dumbest thing I have ever watched

At least I find this entertaining, I've also made the mistake of watching karate's kata (or any, really) events in Tokyo...

I was 'against' this being Olympic, but am enjoying the show a lot more now that I've just switched from 'omg why is this Olympic!?' to 'lets enjoy some fun moves' :d

I think breaking is more fun to watch than half of the sports in the Olympics.

The big problem is that the subjectivity here is very difficult to deal with. Since Brazil is weak here I don't care, but for the favorite countries it must be terrible.

Weird seeding.... :LTU world champion, :FRA world championship bronze medallist - both in the same group....

Kind of sounds like breaking is one of those sports where there's all kinds of 'world championships' and 'biggest events in the world', like boxing or skateboarding :p

well, I go with world championships that they list in athletes bios on olympics.com... You'd think that's what they should have used for seeding then...

No, world ranking. Serpentine system. If some of these girls didn't bother to participate in competitions to score points, it's on them.

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
    • Always dreamed Gretzky will draw Slovakia was another moment I can already remove from my things to do before die list
    • Finland have been awful in almost all winter sports, well beside ice hockey and cross-country from time to time, for a lot of years. It's very good to see them building people to challenge for wins again. Their new coach has done wonders it seems.
    • 14th June in Philadelphia against Cote d´Ivoire   20th June inToronto against Curacao   and 25th June in Philadeplphia to kick out  home    Not easy, but not the most difficult group. Should be okay. Vamos
