Bad day for our sports climbers.

In the boulder portion of qualification, Sean McColl finished 29th in men’s combined, and Oscar Bautrand 39th, while Alannah Yip finished 39th as well. All of them will need to produce good lead scores in order to make the top 20.

Sean McColl and Oscar Bautrand finish 32nd and 37th in men’s combined qualification, while Alannah Yip finishes in 41st in women’s combined. Doesn’t look like we’ll be qualifying anyone for the Olympics in this sport :(

Fay Ebert finishes in 15th, with a best semifinal score of 59.36. With there being 20 spots available through the Olympic Qualifier Series, this is a great start towards Olympic qualification. Her new Olympic Ranking total is now 13,703 points.

In the first semifinal heat, Matt Berger finishes 6th with a total of 230.65, and Ryan Decenzo 8th with a total of 148.59. Neither will make the final. Despite having excellent tricks scores, Berger really struggled during his runs which put him out of contention for the final. DeCenzo on the other hand, had a mediocre run score but only managed to put down one out of his five tricks (three count towards your score)

I’ll do updated Olympic ranking points for each of them as soon as the next semifinal has finished.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
