Evie Richards DNF in the Short Track World Championships. Bit of a shame as she was up there in medal contention in laps 4-7. She dropped off the pace in lap 8 before withdrawing - hopefully a mechanical issue and not an injury.

Isla Short was 15th. Charlie Aldridge was a DNS in the qualification of the men's event.

In the men's under-23, Max Greensill was the last of the finishers (38th) whilst Ella Maclean-Howell was 7th in the women's under-23

Should we tell sindo merge this topic (since we talk for all cycling events here) with the GB Track Cycling ??

It would make sense imo

she punctured when clear in 3rd place, but had been gapped by the top 2 on the penultimate lap

Aldridge DNS because off illness, apparently a bug in the camp

Bethany Shriever is World Champion once again.

Still a bit disappointing that we only have the one rider in the Women's Elite class - hopefully that will change by the time the qualifying window for LA opens as we currently have 3 riders in the under-23. (Emily Hutt looked in good form in her opening heat and qualified for the Quarter final but was DNS. Betsy Bax went out in the Quarter final whilst Sienna Harvey exited in the Semi final.

On the men's side, Kye Whyte was our only rider in the Elite class but he couldn't progress beyond the Quarter final.

I note Emiy's brother, another MTB cyclist,  just got hammered with a SIX YEAR doping ban, which doesn't fill one with confidence.

Charlie Aldridge a disappointing 21st in Olympic Cross Country at World Championships. From the lap splits, it doesn't look like he was ever really in the fight.

    • c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)   please, someone shoot to death Coe and his accolades as soon as possible!!!
    • That's only if they don't listen to Trump's 48 hour deadline. But that is permanently 48 hours away, since, well, TACO.
    • I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
