Well, no surprise with this bad weather. So this awful week for Dutch sports continues. No Olympic quota for us, because they won't run another race. Not qualified, however they run the exact same time as TTO, but on a later moment. Still very confused about that rule.

Too bad, but they did have two excellent chances in Bermuda and Rome so......

The Swiss have definitely got the right idea, they hold 4x100m races at all three of the big international meets they host every year so both the senior and age-group teams always keep their World Ranking refreshed.

Are you sure? According to @Topatletieklive, the Dutch team are currently in 16th place, thousands ahead of number 17.

Pesiridou finished 2nd with 12.99 (+2.2) in the 100 hurdles, despite the wind assistance it was the first time since 2016 that she ran under 13 seconds. She really needed something like this to keep her Paris hopes alive so at least there's still a chance she can go. She DNF in Tokyo and actually didn't even make it to the first hurdle, so I really hope she'll get another Olympic chance as she was young and inexperienced still in Rio and will probably be too old in Los Angeles.

Long jump was uneventful from a Greek perspective as was the pole vault although Adamopoulou gained some important ranking points to boost her Olympic chances.

Pesiridou 13.07 in Madrid, she won the B Final but was 6th overall, so she'll barely gain points for her ranking. However, Adamopoulou was 1st with 4.50 and will probably move into a qualifying position or very close to it, same with Scarvelis who had 69.52 in the women's hammer and was 6th.

But the rule was clear: same time? The team who ran it first, will qualify. No tiebreaker with thousands of seconds. Or did the tiebreaker rule suddenly changed?

No idea, Topatletieklive pointed towards this and I think as of right now this is the closest we can get to anything official, until actual announcements are made of course :p

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
