Big results from Kai and Ross this weekend should put us back above both Holland and America. Despite Shriver's poor results, I'd like to think we're only 100 points off Colombia for the second spot - with Hunt U23's results also potentially counting towards the total.

Estimated Olympic rankings after 2024 World Cup Round 4:

Men

:FRA - 15647

:COL - 11686

------------------------------------

:SUI - 9300

:GBR - 8422

:USA - 8290

------------------------------------

:NED - 7789

Should be a big move for the :GBR boys this weekend, having taken advantage of a bit of a weaker field. The :NED team the biggest losers - they rely a fair amount on Niek Kimmann and he wasn't in Brisbane.

Women

:NED - 15411

:USA - 12707

---------------------------------------

:SUI - 11511

:AUS - 10862

:COL - 9257

----------------------------------------

:GBR - 8887

:GBR had a pretty poor weekend and are likely to have lost more ground to :COL in the battle for 5th place. Part of the challenge for GB is that they only have 2 active riders, so they rely heavily on Shriever.

Not a bad athlete to rely on luckily! I hope Kimmann can singlehandedly gather enough points for a second quota. Even if the second rider (Brink or Van den Burg) won't realistically reach the final in Paris, it'll be a good learning experience.

    • Unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm looking forward to Thursday evening, when the team captain's meeting is over and we have our very first World Cup start list of the season. Always a cool moment to see who's there and everything
    • Today I unpacked some of the boxes in which we have put my way too many books to move to our house, and I came across these beauty's I hadn't seen for a while     Absolutely recommended, tough to get for a decent price, but they are such an interesting read with lots of very interesting little stories! Still looking for at least 1900, 1904 and 1906, but not really in the right moment to spend money on that now, so the wait goes on
    • Which I guess is part of why unfortunately 'our' first wild card attempt of the season was rejected last week
