No surprises. 

So that will be three  short track speed skaters (two for  and one for  ). Very exciting.

 

No athlete born and residing in New Brunswick has ever won an Olympic gold medal (Russ Howard is the only New Brunswicker to have won an Olympic gold, he lived in Moncton back in 2006, but he spent most of his life elsewhere). Very good chance this changes in Milan.

Men's hockey team will be named tomorrow at 12:00pm EST. I believe it will be shown on TSN and the CBC website.

Olympics start in less than a month! 

 

My enthusiasm has gone slightly down with all the injuries lately, but I'm still really excited. Fingers crossed we can match our total from Beijing in medals and win 7-10 golds

I'm very excited. These will be the first Olympics I'll attend in person, the first one with NHLers since 2014, and also to me it feels like these are the first winter Olympics since 2018 (I was going through a really bad time in my personal life in 2022, so that combined with how muted the Beijing games felt because of the pandemic means I have very little memories of Beijing 2022 - felt more like a series of world championships than the Olympics).

Team Canada women's ice hockey roster is out now which is attached.

 

My prediction:

 

If the gold medal final for both the Women's and Men's tournaments are between  and  , I will say that whichever nation wins the women's tournament will be the same one that wins the men's tournament.

My prediction is we'll lose by a few goals in the women's gold medal match and win silver, if we don't get knocked out by the Czechs in the semis who have a strong roster. Then, us against Sweden in the men's gold medal match. But we'll see.
