Big shock in the Men’s today - weather change about 30 minutes into the race, so early starters got a clear run, but all the favourites got slowed down.  Great stat from the :GBR ES Comms - :NOR had won every single men’s distance race in 2023 until the very last day!

That's strange FIS did it like that. It's like telling Hanna Oeberg is winner in a biathlon pursuit just because she was fast and shot 0 moving from 20th to 5th and had the best 20km time.

Jessie Diggins what a domination that was! 47s ahead of everyone that was fast. Only top 10 can now challenge for the title I guess in the women.

Think this is the only context in which they list the winners this way, they don't do it for pursuit races during the season.

Yes, quite unusual from FIS.. It wasn´t like that in recent years. Was also surprised, why it took so long time for them to release the results, then I understood when I saw they released the Time Trial results instead of the classic race standings. We´ll see if it will happens also in other races or if it was just a one-time thing.

    • Well, it still hasn’t settled in an hour later.   This team has given me so many heartbreaks over the years it’s actually insane. I can’t imagine having to endure to this for multiple decades. Even if we have some luck, we’re just not destined to finish the job.   I don’t know. This sucks. Everyone in the country would be over the moon if someone told us about finishing fourth before the tournament, but it just sucks. Not getting to see them with the medals, not getting to see them cheerfuly answering questions from the media, I don’t know.   I mean, yeah, fourth place is great. No matter how the games looked like, we can claim we’re the fourth best team after the tournament, no one can take that away. But to imagine we were one game from celebrating with the players on the main square in the capital, I don’t even want to imagine. I don’t know.
