This is officially the worst Karate competition ever, maybe after all IOC has some valid reasons to not keep Karate in the Olympic program with this kind of terrible organization    They are

yeah, it's really a disaster   I don't know how they pretend to become a core sport at the Olympic Games (interview by Davide Benetello just yesterday on the Italian media) with such kind of

so, out of 16 events, we have 26 Nations from 4 Continents (5, if we split North and South America) winning at least 1 medal and 10 of them winning at least 1 Gold medal   only Continent out

only Continent out of the medal table is Oceania

 

just for fun: men's Team Kumite had 46 entries, women's Team Kumite had 55...55!!! not even the 4*100m Relays at the Athletics World Champs had so many (in the years when there was a basically free entry, of course)

 

the women's Individual events had a minimum of 54 up to 61 entries, the men's range went from 61 (only the +84kg) to 74 (4 out of 6 events went over 70)

 

but Karate doesn't deserve the Olympic status, meanwhile Lacrosse and Flag Football and Breakdance do...sure! :zip:
