I'm in mourning...

Pretty sure Leerdam is feeling worse than you though :p

Mostly because last week she already didn't really care about her win due to her mom having some serious health issues, so win or lose doesn't really matter for her at the moment. In interviews one can also clearly notice she's just really not 'there' at the moment.

I love how Dutch commentators aren't able to interprate basic lap time information even after decades of commentating. Roest had the fastest time, Ghiotto was attacking it and started faster, but with two laps to go Ghiotto's lap times had slowly gone up and entered the 30+ seconds, whereas Roest had finished his race with low 29's. Two laps before the end their times were basically similar, but the commentators still somehow talked as if it was going to be tense/tight :p

First race of the season (women’s mass start) for :NED Irene Schouten coming up soon! :cheer:

Without young Bente Kerkhoff, who beat Schouten in the World Cup qualifiers in October (although the mass start wasn't a World Cup qualifier, there it's the national coach who decides). Schouten will continue the dream team with Marijke Groenewoud, her teammate.

Her immense 6:42 in the 5k a few weeks ago suggests Schouten's shape is excellent though :d

I am not exactly sure which of the three Chinese riders you mentioned were not there, but their main star Ning Zhongyan absolutely was in the race (it was a last minute thing) :p

Edit: apparently he replaced Deng.

Ugh, Nuis being Nuis. Doing an interview after the race, an official doing his work points to ending the interview because it's podium time, and despite just having had a fantastic race, Nuis can't just laugh it off and say "be there in a second, thanks!", but angrily goes all "Oh film that guy, film that guy! Unbelievable!".

Reminds me of him angrily grabbing an official's accreditation in a threatening manner in Collalbo after a DQ :p He's a great skater when he's 'on', but man I won't miss him when he retires.

But both Caufield and Hutson have been tearing it up since the roster was announced, and they are playing in front of Guerin twice to show him what he's missing. As a Canadian hockey fan, I'm also fine with these decisions. Never get in the way of your enemy making a mistake.

The Appellant argues that the FIL unlawfully deprived the IFL of a qualifying place for the 2026 OWG by failing to allocate a remaining qualification place and unlawfully allocating qualification places to athletes granted Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) status.   The ILF requests that CAS declare a failure to allocate them a qualifying place in violation of the FIL Qualification System.
