Another comfortable win for us against Serbia in the 5th place game. We used to always lose to them, now we beat them at three tournaments in a row.

 

Serbia have not won any medal since Tokyo where they beat us in the final to win gold...

because FINA and IOC didn't want to have anymore amazing, spectacular, unforgettable games like  vs  (1986 world champs final and 1987 Universiade final) and  vs  (1992 Olympic Games Gold Medal match)

well, there's no logical explanation...they just decided to eliminate OTs

 

p.s. being serious, the official explanation is that FINA wanted to keep all games in the usual "time windows" to please the TV networks and their written in stone schedules
