One thing that I forgot to mention is that :AUS Australia and :ISR Israel are possibly the most tied entries in TISC history!

- both finished on 75 points

- both received points from the same number of juries (11)

- same number of 12-point scores (1)

- same number of 11-point scores (1)

- same number of 10-point scores (1)

- same number of 9-point scores (0)

- same number of 8-point scores (2)

- same number of 7-point scores (1)

- Israel places 21st by virtue of having more 6-point scores (2 to 1)

:woot:

I wonder will we ever see a tie for position (truly tied after all criteria have been exhausted). I guess it's more likely to happen with low scoring songs and even then it's still not that likely to happen.

The only way for that to be even somewhat realistic to happen is if two countries send in a truly horrific song and get 0 points, otherwise I think we can have 10.000 TISC's and it's still incredibly unlikely.

Hands up who knows how to represent 10000 in Roman numerals :d

Here's a stat that wasn't mentioned before:

4 countries managed get Top10 placements in both Open 2019 and Annual 2020:

:SWE  (O2019: 3rd; A2020: 10th)

:HUN (O2019: 4th; A2020: 8th)

:ESP (O2019: 6th; A2020: 6th)

:NOR (O2019: 7th; A2020: 4th)

Let's see if one of us can go for 3/3 in Netherlands. :d

If I am not mistaken, the record for consecutive Top10 placements is 5 from Ireland (O2014, A2015, O2015, A2016, O2016), and Lithuania (A2015, O2015, A2016, O2016, A2017).

Let's see what were the Top5 nations in the 3 sessions so far:

Morning session

1. :CAN  56pts

2. :MLT  38pts

3. :DEN  34pts

4. :SWE  33pts

5. :FRA  31pts

Early Afternoon session

1. :FRA  38pts

2. :INA  38pts

3. :KAZ  37pts

4. :POL  37pts

5. :GRE  36pts

Late Afternoon session

1. :CHN  51pts

2. :NOR  42pts

3. :FRA  38pts

4. :ISR  38pts

5. :ESP  36pts

Yep, Canada wasn't in the Top5 in the last two sessions.

I forgot to update with this with the last session's Top5:

Evening session

1. :CHN  49pts

2. :MEX  46pts

3. :IND  43pts

4. :GER  36pts

5. :INA  34pts

So China "won" the last two sessions, and Canada was only in the Top5 in the first session (but they were in the Top10 in all 4 sessions).

And finally, here's just the weirdest thing about the draw: Hungary turned out to be a "turning point" for its Top3 songs ( :NZL :INA :CHN )

Not counting the Hungarian points, this is how the voting went for these nations (16 countries voted before Hungary, and 21 after it)

:NZL

11 points from the nations before Hungary, 0.69 PPJ

53 points from the nations after Hungary, 2.52 PPJ

:INA

27 points from the nations before Hungary, 1.69 PPJ

64 points from the nations after Hungary, 3.05 PPJ

:CHN

25 points from the nations before Hungary, 1.56 PPJ

105 points from the nations after Hungary, 5 PPJ

Only if China won TISC, Hungary would be the South Carolina of TISC. :d

Ah, the glory days
